Small Groups at County Church
Small groups are the life blood of County Church. It is in our small groups that we have the opportunity to pray for each other, encourage each other, and discuss how God’s word is affecting us and impacting our lives. It is as part of one of our small groups that we go beyond simply attending our church meeting on a Sunday and start to become a Christian community together, sharing life together on many different levels and in many contexts. One of the highest priorities of each group is to introduce others to Jesus. With this in mind our groups are outward looking and may spearhead specific areas of mission or service for the Church.
Each small group has growth and multiplication as its goal from day one. We want family and friends, neighbours, strangers, work colleagues and others to feel comfortable when visiting one of our small groups or joining in a social activity and through seeing our own lives, to encounter Jesus Christ for themselves. We expect our groups to grow and eventually form two or more new groups. Each group therefore has a vital part to play in our vision to pioneer and establish new groups and plant churches throughout the County.
You will be invited to a small group as soon as you come among us. We hope this makes you feel welcome and helps you get to know a few people. But there is more to it than that. If you decide that County Church is the church for you then belonging to one of our small groups is very important. They are more than a small number meeting in a home during the week - it is the church in miniature. Everything connected with our vision and activity at County Church is linked into and flows out of group activity. It would be impossible to be a living part of this church without being a small group member.
